Road Trip to Mount Rushmore and Custer South Dakota

A beautiful lake right outside Mount Rushmore.
Madison and Matt by the Park!
 Madison.. The mountains i
near Mount Rushmore are amazing. The rocks are really colorful, we brought alot home to start a rock garden.
This is a view outside the Park.
A view inside the Park. The park was probably the best kept  National Park I have ever seen. I loved being there.
 Mount Rushmore
You walk through  all the flags in the Us to  a viewing terrace.
This is Madison with Bill Groethe. He is a great, fun, and friendly man we met at the museum at Mount Rushmore. He is a photographer who's work's are recognized world wide. We got to visit with him for a long time and saw alot of his photos. He was the official photographer while they were building Mount Rushmore. He also took photos in 948 of the Indian survivors of the massacre at Wounded Knee (Custer's Last Stand) 2 of the Indian's were Sitting Bulls sons, these photos are in the Smithsonian in Washington DC. The Indian's were all in their 90s when he took their pictures. He was really amazing. He had stories about both President Coolidge and Teddy Roosevelt. He was in his late 80s and sharp as a tack. He told Mady that since she wasn't related to any of the famous Madison's she would have to hake her own history.
Sylvan Lake in Custer State Park...This lake was in National Treasure. It was so beautiful and serene. I hope to go back and stay there some day.
Another Photo of Sylvan Lake. My photos do not do it justice it was so much more beautiful that my photos show.
Matt and Mady in Custer Park.
Hello Bison...right nest to my window..we must have seen a thousand in the park.
 A lake near Mount Rushmore
I added this photo by accident and can't figure out how to delete it! We are at Mount Rushmore, and Mady is taking a photo on her phone, but I have no Idea who the other folks are!!
